Biography

Ms. Arrocena has been with the University System of Georgia for more than 10 years working in Disability Services. Her experience comes from functioning first as a counselor and later as the coordinator of disability services at Georgia Perimeter College. Before that, she worked with the Department of Human Resources, Division of Rehabilitation Services as a rehabilitation counselor.

Arrocena pursued a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Georgia College and State University and a master of science degree in rehabilitation counseling from Georgia State. While in college she pursued internships and volunteer opportunities with the Rape Crisis Center, Gwinnett County public schools, special education programs and vocational rehabilitation.

Arrocena is an active member of the Gwinnett interagency transition council, AHEAD, as well as GA-AHEAD. Her favorite part of her job as the director of Disability Services at Georgia Gwinnett College is working with the students with disabilities as they transition to college.
