Dr. Shelby Fencil Shuler
Part-time Faculty, Chemistry
Biography
Dr. S. Fencil Shuler commenced his studies with a Bachelor's in marine science, emphasizing on chemical oceanography. He demonstrated an interest in chemistry and decided to double major on the behalf of his advisor. Shuler's first research experience focused on synthesizing poly (p-phenyleneethynylene)s polymers using simple combinatorial alkyne metathesis.
After undergraduate, he completed his Master's in analytical chemistry, thereafter, receiving a Future Faculty Fellowship to pursue his doctoral degree at University of Alabama.
Prior to joining GGC as an lecturer of chemistry in 2014, Shuler was a visiting lecturer at Georgia Southern University.
