Georgia Gwinnett College fall enrollment up for seventh consecutive semester

Once again, enrollment at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) continues its annual upward trajectory. For the fall semester, the number of students is projected to climb 2.1% overall, which means GGC will likely enroll well over 12,000 students. This marks seven consecutive semesters that enrollment has grown.

While nearly 75 percent of the students at GGC hail from Gwinnett County, there are plenty of coming from other states in the U.S., plus 116 countries. The top five countries outside of the U.S

Georgia Gwinnett College's economic impact more than $603 million

Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) contributed more than $603 million to the economy of Gwinnett County and the Atlanta metropolitan area during fiscal year 2023, according to an economic impact study released by the University System of Georgia (USG).

That’s $81.9 million dollars, or about 16% more than the previous year.

Including its capital outlay for construction projects such as its new Convocation Center that will open later this year, GGC has generated more than $6.4 billion in cumulative

It’s the first day of fall classes at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) as thousands of students make their way across campus.

“I’m thrilled to see our campus vibrant with the return of our faculty, staff and students,” said GGC President Jann L. Joseph.

Along with finding their classes, students are exploring the campus, discovering where to purchase books, grab a snack and catch up with their friends.

With the fall semester starting next week, over 1,000 students are moving into the residence halls on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) today and tomorrow.

"It’s an exciting day for the students, their families and all of us here at GGC,” said Ricky Clark, director of Student Housing. “We’ve got a system in place and great volunteers to help make the move as smooth as possible.”
