Dr. Alvina J. Atkinson, professor of mathematics, was re-elected to serve a second, two-year term as the Southeast regional vice president of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC). This national organization focuses on excellence in mathematics education in the first two years of college. She serves on the executive board for AMATYC and will represent the Southeast region, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, at the November 2022 conference in Toronto, Canada.
