Eddy Wheeler
Dr. Eddy Wheeler
Part-time Faculty, Mathematics
Biography
Dr. Ed Wheeler taught his first college courses in 1969 at the tender age of 22 as a temporary instructor at Lynchburg College. Four years later he completed his Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Virginia and moved to the Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati to teach for the state college that was to become Northern Kentucky University. He followed that service with seven years as Mathematical Science Department chair at Meredith College, then 14 years as chair of the Department of Mathematics (and, for ten years, computer science) at Armstrong State University. He completed his full-time service with seven years as dean of arts and sciences at Armstrong and five years as VPAA at Gordon State College. Though he dabbled in administration and authoring mathematics textbooks, his first love has always been the classroom. He is pleased to teach at Georgia Gwinnett College.
