Biography
Dr. Jeanne H. McCarthy, professor of English at Georgia Gwinnett College, has published essays on patronage, authorship, and performance in the boy company playing tradition in Shakespeare International Yearbook, English Literary Renaissance, Studies in Philology, Medieval and Renaissance Drama in England, Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies and Inside Shakespeare: Essays on the Blackfriars Stage. A book on the impact of the Tudor and early Jacobean children’s companies on the early modern performance tradition, The Children's Troupes and the Transformation of English Theater 1509-1608 : Pedagogue Playwrights, Playbooks and Play-boys, is forthcoming from Routledge Press (2016).
