Biography

Dr. Jinkyung "Jin" Park is an assistant professor of exercise science at Georgia Gwinnett College. She earned her Ph.D. in kinesiology / exercise / nutrition / health promotion from Baylor University and holds a Master of Science in medical nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine and food and nutrition from Kyung Hee University in South Korea.

Park specializes in applied exercise physiology, focusing on the impact of exercise and nutrition interventions on metabolism and vascular inflammation for chronic disease prevention. Her research expertise includes metabolic changes, obesity-induced vascular inflammation and endothelial function.

Park has been recognized for her dedication to advancing knowledge in exercise science and her commitment to student mentorship, receiving awards such as the Thank-a-Teacher Award from Georgia College & State University and the Outstanding Research Critique Presentation at the International Organization for Health Sports Kinesiology conference.

She has secured grants to support her research, including studies on time-restricted eating schedules with exercise and their effects on body composition in overweight adults. Park has published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of exercise science, nutrition, and health promotion.

Park has a strong teaching portfolio, having taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science, kinesiology and nutrition. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
