Biography
Dr. Justin Jernigan has served as interim associate provost for academic programs since August 2024. Prior to his current role, he served as dean of Student Success at GGC. He holds a B.A. in Russian and M.A. in linguistics from the University of Florida. He also received his Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Florida, Program in Linguistics. He earned his Ph.D. in multilingual-multicultural education from Florida State University in 2007. Jernigan has taught English as a second language (ESL) since 1996. He teaches primarily English courses at GGC, where he has been since July 2007.
