Biography
Luis E. Torres, Ph.D. joined the faculty of Georgia Gwinnett College in 2011. He has conducted several courses including Digital Marketing in a Global Context, Marketing Strategy, Principles of Marketing, Marketing Research and Information Systems, Advertising, Marketing Management, International Marketing, B2B Marketing, Organizational Behavior, and Logistics at GGC and other institutions of higher education. His areas of research include multicultural marketing, international business, consumer behavior, services, money attitudes and personal finances. He has published in several business journals in the marketing and international business disciplines.
Before joining academia, Torres engaged in several IT, marketing and financial projects for various industries around the world, including manufacturing (General Motors, Campos Tools – Americas), entertainment (Universal Studios – Europe) and telecommunications (Orbitel, Latin America). Torres is an experienced project manager working for global corporations such as IBM and Femsa – Coca Cola. He has led the efforts of multicultural teams implementing ERP solutions as a certified SAP consultant.
Torres holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, a diploma in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley ext., an M.S. in international business, and a Ph.D. in business with a concentration in marketing from Florida Atlantic University.
