Biography
Dr. Thomas' interest in mathematics and statistics developed when he worked as an intern at the Centers for Disease Control at the end of his junior year at Georgia Tech. He was drawn to the ability that math has to solve problems of interest to non-mathematicians. As such, his interest is in the application of mathematics to help people. His primary areas of interest include mathematical biology, biostatistics and computer simulation.
