Biography

Dr. Fournier was born and raised in Maine. He received a B.A. and an M.A. in English from the University of Maine and a Ph.D. in English from Georgia State University. He has been proud to teach at the University of Maine, Kennesaw State University, Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, but is proudest of being able to teach at Georgia Gwinnett College. His poetry and articles have appeared in a number of journals and his plays have been produced in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Kyoto, Japan, and Aberdeen, Scotland.

Fournier was a founding editor of the now-defunct poetry journal Chants and has edited The Collected Poems of Louis Ginsberg, a critical edition of Parker Tyler's long poem, The Granite Butterfly and Take This Waltz: A Celebration of Leonard Cohen. He has delivered conference presentations on the Beat Generation, Edmund Spenser, Kenneth Fearing, Herbert Read and Louis Zukofsky. His academic interests include Renaissance poetry, 20th century poetry in English and technical communication. In addition to his academic work, he has also worked in publishing and as a technical writer and instructional designer for IBM, Convergent Technologies and BMW motorcycles.
