Biography
Dr. Rabia Shahbaz started her academic life in Pakistan. She completed her bachelor's degree in mathematics and statistics. She received her master's degree in statistics from The University of Punjab and secured one of the top positions.
After moving to United States, Shahbaz pursued a teaching career and completed a master's degree in mathematics education and later a doctorate from Georgia State University.
Shahbaz's philosophy of teaching and learning is to empower students with the knowledge and information required to become useful members of our society. She believes every individual has a unique perspective and learning style. She also believes that teaching and learning is a complex metacognitive process and should involve multiple teaching strategies.
Shahbaz taught high school in Gwinnett County before transitioning to Georgia Gwinnett College. She served her high school in the capacity of subject team leader and math department head.
