Biography
Dr. Rashad Simmons started working for GGC in 2011 before joining the faculty full time in 2012, where he incorporates active learning strategies into his teachings. He is currently active as a senior chemistry faculty of the GGC Peer Supplemental Instruction (PSI) program, a chemistry faculty for the Bio-bridge research program for biology transfer and freshmen students, and engages as a volunteer tutor at the Academic Enhancement Center.
Simmons’ teaching experience includes analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, industrial chemistry, general chemistry, and physical science. His research interests consist of the determination of environmental contaminants and the development of course-embedded undergraduate research experiments for analytical chemistry courses.
