Biography
Ms. Meltzer, a native of Gadsden, Ala., still refers to herself as a “Bama” girl even though she has lived in the Atlanta area for more than twenty years. Meltzer attended Jacksonville State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in computer science. Following graduation, she worked in the private sector as a programmer analyst for seventeen years.
After a short stint of retirement, Meltzer found a new passion, working with students. She began her career at Georgia Gwinnett College in July 2006 and within two years joined the Office of Admissions.
She finds each and every day a blessing to have the opportunity to assist prospective students and families navigate the college admission process. It’s a rewarding experience that Meltzer does not take lightly. Her primary responsibility, in addition to meeting with students and families, is to prepare the academic advisement paperwork for Grizzly Orientation. She is also the work study coordinator for the Admissions office.
In her spare time, Meltzer enjoys other interests that include reading, shopping, running, following her favorite sports teams and spending time with family and friends.
