Windows 11 transition for Georgia Gwinnett College computers to begin April 1

On Tuesday, April 1, Information Technology (IT) will begin the Windows 11 transition on Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC)-managed computers as Microsoft will no longer provide updates or support for Windows 10 after Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025. This transition will ensure all GGC-managed computers are updated and in compliance with the University System of Georgia IT Handbook.
IT will transition GGC-managed computers to Windows 11 as follows:
Current employees will receive an invitation to schedule a Windows 11 transition appointment with the Help Desk. IT will prioritize faculty appointments in April and May. Staff appointments will begin in June.
Shared computers (e.g., lectern computers, computers in classrooms, computers in labs, laptops located in laptop carts, etc.) will transition to Windows 11 between Wednesday, May 7, and Friday, May 16.
New employees will receive a Windows 11 enabled computer during onboarding.
