    If I am enrolled in an academic activity class, do I need to be a member of the Wellness and Recreation Center?

    Yes. Students attending an academic class need to complete the Wellness and Recreation Center Terms and Conditions prior to entry. Students must present a valid Claw Card each time they enter the Center to attend class.

    I'm a GGC student but I'm not taking summer classes. Can I use the Wellness and Recreation Center during the summer semesters?

    Students enrolled in fall classes may use the Wellness and Recreation Center during summer semesters.

    Membership to the Wellness and Recreation Center is no longer valid upon graduation.

    Who is eligible to join the GGC Wellness and Recreation Center?

    The Wellness and Recreation Center is open to GGC students, faculty, staff and family members (spouses, partners, dependents) of faculty/staff. Family memberships are available to faculty/staff only. View more information about Wellness and Recreation Center memberships.

    Can my family join the Wellness and Recreation Center?

    Yes. Family memberships are currently limited to payroll deduction memberships. Family is considered to be immediate family members (dependents, spouses/domestic partners) residing in the same household. Family memberships are available to faculty/staff only.     Are guest passes available?

    Yes. Guest passes are available for $5/day. Students, faculty and staff members may bring up to three guests per day, one pass per person. Guest passes are valid for one day only, guests must show valid photo ID upon entry, and be accompanied by a member at all times. The Wellness and Recreation Center reserves the right to approve or deny any guest pass transaction. Guest passes must be purchased in person at the Membership Services Desk. Cave Cash is the only accepted form of payment.

    I’d like to tour the facility before I join. How do I do this?

    Tours are available for groups and individuals upon request. Please contact membership services to schedule an appointment for a tour.

    Is the Wellness and Recreation Center open on the weekends?

    Weekend hours at the Wellness and Recreation Center include Saturday and Sunday during fall and spring semesters. Review the posted online hours for more information.

    Is the Wellness and Recreation Center open during holidays?

    Reduced hours of operation (including closure) are in effect during semester breaks, GGC holidays and other scheduled campus closings. Please review the posted online hours. The Wellness and Recreation Center hours and other campus services hours are also listed on GGC's hours.

    Can I reserve the Wellness and Recreation Center for a private event?

    Information to host your event on campus and submit a reservation request is available online and most Wellness and Recreation Center requests require a minimum of two weeks advance notice. Please contact the Wellness and Recreation Center for more information.

    Does the Wellness and Recreation Center accommodate persons with disabilities?

    Yes. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to utilize the facility. The adaptive fitness room on the first floor is equipped with dumbbells, benches, a recumbent bike and an upper body ergometer. For more information, please contact membership services.

    Does the Wellness and Recreation Center have a dress code?

    Yes. No jeans, slacks or non-workout shoes allowed. Shirts must cover the entire torso. Please be prepared to dress-out in order to utilize the facility; this includes “just watching.”

    Does the Wellness and Recreation Center offer a towel service?

    No, not at this time. Please bring your own shower towel as well as a workout towel for use on equipment and courts.

    May I bring an energy drink with me to have during my workout?

    Only drinks contained in a re-sealable container or sports bottle are allowed in activity areas.

    Are personal trainers available to assist me with my workout?

    No, not at this time. However, the fitness attendant on duty can show you how to use the equipment. We hope to add services like personal training in the future.
