Entrance Counseling. An exercise to help students understand consequences of accepting loans and repayment options. Exercises include determining monthly budgets with a common expense including loan repayment. It must be completed by the student and/or parent if either party wants the loan(s) to be issued.
An electronic version of a book that can be read on a computer or handheld device. E-books can be discovered via GIL-Find, the library catalog, and the databases.
Dual Enrollment refers to a high school student who also is enrolled at GGC.
A period of several days at the beginning of each semester during which students may adjust their schedules without penalty. This action may increase the tuition charges on a student’s account if a course is added or decrease charges if a course is dropped. The number of credits a student attempts also may affect the amount of their financial aid award.
DegreeWorks is a program that will help you track your academic requirements and progress. It also helps you prepare for future course registration. Through its “What If ” function, you can see how your current classes fit into a different major plan, if you are considering switching majors.
Tens of thousands of full-text articles, books and book chapters, images, streaming media, statistics, government information, etc., made available from online sources through the Kaufman Library. Databases cover a wide variety of specific discipline areas and time periods.

Credit hours are the number of hours for which a student is given credit for completing a course. To earn one credit hour, a student has to attend a class for one classroom hour (though it’s not always a full 60 minutes) per week for the semester. Most classes are offered in one- to four-hour increments.
