Hybrid

Class modality/delivery method. Students meet in-person for some class sessions and have online components to complete for the course. The in-person meetings are on assigned dates and times in a designated classroom, while the online components must be completed during a specific timeframe.

Hold

Authorized GGC offices may put a hold on a student’s record until the student resolves a problem or situation. These holds can be viewed in Banner in DegreeWorks and under “Add or Drop Classes/View Holds.” Examples of holds include the following: Mentor, Health and Safety, Student Accounts, Immunization, Parking, Library and Student Integrity.

Grizz

The GGC chatbot that sends important information and reminders via text messaging. Grizz also responds to questions submitted via text and through the Ask Grizz web bot on the GGC website.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. This federal law protects students’ educational records and regulates with whom that information is shared. If you wish your parents or other parties to have access to your grades and other educational records, you need to file a FERPA exception with the Registrar’s Office.
