Dr. Kristi Amatucci, associate professor of literacy education and interim associate dean in the School of Education (SOE), participated in a panel of education program specialists from around the state. Sponsored by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, the panel discussed innovative strategies for meeting teacher shortage needs. Amatucci shared Georgia Gwinnett College strategies, such as offering SOE's special education program online to better serve students in the paraprofessional track. She also described an interns-as-teachers residency program SOE will pilot next year in partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools.
