Introducing the president's walking meetings for spring 2025

To foster engagement and accessibility, President Jann L. Joseph will host walking meetings this spring, offering Georgia Gwinnett College faculty and staff an opportunity for direct dialogue. These sessions aim to encourage open communication, promote well-being and provide an alternative to traditional sit-down or virtual meetings. This initiative aligns with the college’s strategic commitment to promote open dialogue and communication and create spaces for individuals to share their experiences and perspectives.
Structure and schedule
Frequency: Multiple sessions per month
Duration: 20-25 minutes, depending on pace
Route: 1.19-mile loop on the college’s Gold Walking Trail (PDF), beginning at the main entrance of Building B
Sign-up process: Participants must sign up in advance by emailing @email. Include a topic or question for discussion in the message.
Meeting format:
Walking sessions for individuals who can participate
Individuals unable to walk may request a sit-down meeting in an outdoor seating/gathering area on campus.
Registration and participation
The session schedules will be posted in Inside GGC. Individuals can sign up and include their discussion topic or question by emailing @email.
Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
A waiting list will be maintained for overflow requests.
Weather contingency
In case of inclement weather, walking meetings will be rescheduled.
If rescheduling is not possible, an alternative sit-down meeting will be arranged.
