INSIDE GGC

As announced internally Nov. 21, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is debuting a refreshed design of its internal newsletter, featuring a contemporary, user-friendly and streamlined format Dec. 2. Along with these improvements, the newsletter has a new name, Inside GGC, and a shortened distribution schedule.

Format

The format of Inside GGC will be divided into two main sections:

1. News section: This section features a primary story and up to five news articles and announcements. Content will include press releases, updates from GGC’s five schools, academic developments, departmental news, campus updates, human resources and benefits information, personnel acknowledgments and profiles, and other relevant news items.
2. Events section: This section focuses exclusively on activities scheduled for the current week. Events will no longer be included as news articles, meaning all events must be submitted to and appear on the master calendar.

To view event details, simply click on an event title in the calendar to open a pop-up window with more information. You can also add events to your Outlook or preferred calendar directly from the pop-up.

To add events to the calendar via 25Live, visit the “Events” section of the Communications Request webpage. For assistance with the forms, email Steven Sattler, campus scheduling administrator. Additionally, be sure to watch the latest 25Live training video for guidance.

Newsletter content archive 

All Inside GGC newsletter content will be archived on a newly created webpage on the college’s public website. Articles linked in the newsletter will now open on an Inside GGC landing page, eliminating the current login requirement to access content. The archive will be accessible via the short link www.ggc.edu/insideGGC, and articles and announcements will not be repeated in the newsletter. Also, department newsletters will no longer appear in Inside GGC. For convenience, Inside GGC will also appear on the Faculty/Staff webpage. 

Distribution change

Inside GGC will be distributed weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, providing ample time to develop more comprehensive and feature-rich news stories.

How to submit news for Inside GGC

You can submit newsletter requests on the Communications Request webpage under the “Inside GGC Newsletter” section.
