Georgia Gwinnett College celebrates International Thanksgiving

Georgia Gwinnett College’s (GGC) faculty, staff and students enjoyed an early Thanksgiving feast with an international flair.

Along with the traditional American fare, attendees sampled dishes from around the world. Topping off the feast were a variety of international desserts. While enjoying the feast, everyone was entertained by the jazzy sounds of GGC faculty musicians.

Dr. Richard Rawls, professor of history, had the crowd going with trivia about the history of Thanksgiving. While no grades were given, the audience passed the test.

During the event, GGC’s Internationalization office presented the college’s Award of Excellence in Internationalization to Dr. Rong Liu, a professor of English.

GGC’s faculty and staff also provided information about the college’s study abroad opportunities in more than 10 different countries, such as Germany, Korea, Thailand and Rwanda.

The event, presented by GGC’s Internationalization office, was held in accordance with the national observance of International Education Week, which promotes international education and exchange throughout the world.
