Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) will open its Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion Center on Monday, Dec. 2, to help current and future students start or complete their application.

From April through August, over 600 students stopped in the center to ask questions and get help with their FAFSA application. During that time, delays in the release of the U.S. Department of Education’s new, streamlined FAFSA form created challenges for students and the colleges alike.

“We weren’t sure what to expect when we first opened the center,” said Kimberly Jordan, executive director of Financial Aid Services. “We just knew that there was a need to help our current and future students navigate this process. Completing the form on time and correctly could ultimately decide if they can attend college, and that's why helping students is so important.”

The FAFSA is critical in determining how much federal aid eligibility students will have for their education.

The GGC FAFSA Completion Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The center is located on campus in the Student Center, Room 2161. However, the GGC campus and center will be closed during the college’s winter holiday from Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, 2025, and reopen on Jan. 6, 2025.
