Round 27 applications for Affordable Learning Materials Grants open
Would you like to receive funding to transform your course learning materials into free or reduced-cost open educational resources (OER) that will eliminate the need for students to purchase costly textbooks?
The Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) Affordable Materials Grants provide the financial means to support your efforts. The Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) office will assist you in your application and submit it.
Round 27 is now open for applications, which are due Monday, March 10. The grant ends spring 2026. Apply for an Affordable Learning Georgia Grant.
Two funding options exist, including:
- Transformation grants: These grants support individual instructors, teams of instructors and entire departments in replacing their existing commercial textbooks and materials in a specific course with no- or low-cost-to-students learning materials. The award per individual team member is $5,000 maximum for salary, travel, supplies, etc., with a $30,000 maximum total award per grant.
- Continuous Improvement grants: These grants support substantial improvements and adaptations of OER, the creation of new ancillary materials for existing OER courses, or the replacement of current OER in courses with new or better OER. The award per individual team member is $2,000 maximum for salary, travel, supplies, etc., with $10,000 maximum total award per grant.
