Participate in or volunteer for GGC’s Spring 2025 STaRS Symposium

The Science Technology and Research Symposium (STaRS), organized by the School of Science and Technology at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), will be held in Building H 12-3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, and is open to everyone to attend.
The annual STaRS event offers our students an opportunity to showcase their work in undergraduate research and to illustrate the outcomes of this high-impact practice – critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis, oral communication and community building, to name just a few.
The Spring 2025 STaRS event will be many of our students’ very first opportunity to present the results of a significant amount of work to their professors and peers in a supportive and celebratory environment. In addition, the STaRS event continues to represent our best opportunity to show campus leaders and colleagues in other departments the truly outstanding science that GGC students and faculty are doing every day. Graduate programs will also be on site to show our students potential opportunities available to them after graduation.
If you are a GGC faculty member who has conducted research with students, we ask you to encourage your students to present their research at STaRS. There will be cash prizes. Complete the STaRS registration form to participate. The deadline to register is Thursday, March 24.
There will also be a scavenger hunt (PDF) with prizes, so even students who do not have research to present can get involved. During this activity, students will be given a list of posters or activities to visit. As they go around to each of the locations, a volunteer will sign off that they have completed the given tasks. After all tasks have been completed, the student will get a prize (and potentially extra credit).
If you are a student club advisor, and would like to register a student activity, complete the STaRS activity registration form by Monday, March 31.
Students and faculty who want to volunteer to help with the event can complete the GivePulse STaRS 2025 volunteers recruitment form (log in with GGC credentials) by Friday, April 11.
