Georgia Gwinnett College receives $25,000 grant to help students in times of crisis
The Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Greater Atlanta COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund, a joint effort of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and the United Way of Greater Atlanta. Funds will support GGC’s Student Emergency Fund, which aids Pell-eligible GGC students with food, gasoline, housing, rent and utilities.
“We’re so pleased to be working with our community partners to help address the needs of our students,” said GGC President Jann L. Joseph. “Student success is of utmost importance to GGC and we’re grateful that our partners are willing to invest in the wellbeing of our students.”
GGC’s Student Emergency Fund was established to provide basic necessities and address sudden emergencies so GGC students can keep moving forward with their education. Learn more about the fund.

The United Way of Greater Atlanta reported nearly $12 million has been distributed to community organizations since the fund was announced in March.
